Fend joins Smart City Works business actuator
Smart City Works (www.smartcityworks.io) notes their mission as “to build and launch next generation IOT infrastructure start-ups.” Having established their credibility via two cohorts of emerging companies (in Spring 2017 and Fall 2017), Fend recognized that such an incubator would be of direct value to bring structure to the creation of Founder, Colin Dunn.  Mr. Dunn was accepted to be part of SCW’s Spring 2018 cohort on April 4, 2018. The rigorous 12 week process SCW employs to advance the member cohort companies has been invaluable to Fend’s current state of readiness. SCW selects five to six innovative companies twice a year to receive a heavy regimen of mentorship, market development advice, and access to funding resources.
SCW affords Fend access to a world class ecosystem of over three dozen leading universities, non-profits, professional services companies, public sector partners, and a wide network of industry experts.  The cumulative benefit to guide and coach us through the innovation-commercialization process and position our technology to compete and grow in the marketplace has been and will be invaluable.
